LONDON  Australia’s National Offshore Petroleum Titles Administrator (NOPTA) has joined the Data as a National Resource (DANR) hub.

DANR, which launched last spring, aims to serve as a knowledge hub for regulators, national oil companies, national data repositories (NDRs) and technology/service providers.

Within the hub, these organizations can share experience, provide training and access available resources. One goal is to support emerging economies seeking inward investment through licensing rounds for oil and gas, renewable energy as well as carbon capture, utilization and sequestration.

Existing members are the Petroleum Agency of South Africa, SKK Migas, and the North Sea Transition Authority.

Mark Ducksbury, manager of the NOPTA Data Management Team, said, “NDRs worldwide face similar challenges, with decommissioning, energy transition and diversification and new technologies at the forefront. It’s really useful to talk to international peers to identify best practice in addressing these challenges.”

DANR is powered by the PPDM Association.
