Twelve start-ups to join OGTC’s TechX program

The Oil & Gas Technology Centre has launched the third phase of its TechX Accelerator program.

ABERDEEN, UK – The Oil & Gas Technology Centre (OGTC) has launched the third phase of its TechX Accelerator program. As before, the 12 selected companies with pioneering oil and gas technologies will receive support from the TechX team and its partners and mentors, over a 16-week period.

This year, Equinor joins BP and KPMG as the program’s strategic industry partners, providing the companies with access to technology and finance specialists and test facilities, with the chance to showcase their technologies globally. Each start-up will be offer training and support from more than 110 experienced mentors. Half of this year’s line-up of companies is in the cleantech sector.

Under the program, up to £100,000 ($131,000) in funding is available with no requirement for equity or payback, and with the start-ups retaining all intellectual property.

To date TechX has supported 33 companies and provided around £3.3 million ($4.32 million) of funding.

On completion of the program, each business will join TechX alumni from cohort two with further support offered for up to two years via the TechX Plus incubator.
