C-Automation acquires Proserv drilling services business

Proserv has agreed to sell its drilling services business, formerly known as TIC, to Houston-based BOP control systems provider and field service specialist C-Automation.

ABERDEEN, UKProserv has agreed to sell its drilling services business, formerly known as TIC, to Houston-based BOP control systems provider and field service specialist C-Automation.

The business will now trade as C-Automation Services.

Scott Shugart, president, Drilling Controls at Proserv, said: “Following a strategic review of our portfolio, providing manpower to our customers to perform welding, electrical, piping and tubing services no longer complemented Proserv’s core offering…

“Proserv remains firmly committed to thedrilling market and is actively working on new products to support our customers.”

Under the agreement, the two companies will work in a partnership offering clients Proserv’s drilling controls products, including its Gilmore branded valves and field-testing equipment; and C-Automation’s welding, electrical, piping, flushing and tubing services.
