OSLO, Norway – TMC Compressors of the Seas (TMC) will supply marine compressed air systems for two shuttle tankers destined for the Roncador oilfield in the Campos basin offshore Brazil.

Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) is building the 153,000-dwt DP-2 vessels for Knutsen NYK Offshore Tankers (KNOT). They are due to be delivered by 2020.

Knutsen will operate the vessels on the field lifting and transporting oil under a long-term charter withEquinor, which has a 25% interest in Roncador.

TMC will provide service and instrument air compressors.

“We understand that the two shuttle tankers are modern, highly fuel-efficient and designed for operations in Brazilian waters,” said Hans Petter Tanum, the company’s director of sales and business development.

“As such, we understand why HHI has chosen our compressors with their…leading energy consumption and minimal service requirements, which keeps operational costs and harmful emissions to air to a minimum.”
