    OMV takes on Shell’s interests offshore New Zealand

    OMV has completed its acquisition of Shell’s Upstream business in New Zealand for $578 million.

    VIENNA, Austria – OMV has completed its acquisition of Shell’s Upstream business in New Zealand for $578 million.

    This comprises a 48% interest inPohokura, the country’s largest offshore gas producing field; 83.75% of the offshore Maui field; and related infrastructure for production, storage, and transportation. 

    OMV already held 26% and 10% stakes in Pohokura and Maui, and now assumes operatorship for both fields.
