BAKU, Azerbaijan – BP has extended Expro’s support contract for the Shah Deniz Stage 2 project in the Azeri sector of the Caspian Sea by four years.

The contractor started supplying its landing string assembly – high pressure (ELSA-HP) 15k valves in 2014, in conjunction with its EXPRESS electro hydraulic control systems.

To support the contract extension Expro has opened a new $5-million complex that will house 30 personnel, with more than 8,500 sq m (91,493 sq ft) of office and workshop space.

This will allow it to provide its integrated subsea services to clients throughout the region, with the capacity to expand other parts of its business.
