Lukoil starts up third well at Filanovsky Phase 2 in the Caspian Sea

Lukoil has completed construction and commissioning of the third well for the second development phase of the Vladimir Filanovsky field in the Russian sector of the Caspian Sea.

MOSCOW – Lukoil has completed construction and commissioning of the third well for the second development phase of the Vladimir Filanovsky field in the Russian sector of the Caspian Sea.

This is a bi-lateral horizontal oil producer: length of the main wellbore is 3,795 m (12,450 ft) and the lateral is 3,762 m (12,342 ft) long. Initial flow rate exceeded 3,200 metric tons/d (3,527 tons/d).

Lukoil plans eight wells in total for Phase 2, comprising six producers and two injectors, to maintain the field’s plateau oil production rate at 6 MM metric tons/yr (6.6 MM tons/yr).

Construction of wellhead platform for the third-phase Filanovsky development is under way at the Astrakhan shipyards.
