Shell gets clearance for Knarr area well in the North Sea

Norske Shell has permission from the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate to use the semisubmersible Scarabeo 8 for an exploratory well in production license 373 S in the North Sea.

OSLO, Norway – Norske Shell has permission from the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate to use the semisubmersible Scarabeo 8 for an exploratory well in production license 373 S in the North Sea.

This will be the ninth well in the license, which was awarded in January 2006 under Norway’s APA 2005 round. The location is around 20 km (12.4 mi) south of Norske Shell’s Knarr field.

Other partners are Idemitsu Petroleum Norge (25%), Wintershall Norge AS (20%), and DEA Norge AS (10%).
