ABERDEEN, UKFaroe Petroleum has provided updates on development and appraisal drilling programs at two fields offshore Norway.

Aker BP has completed and brought onstream two new infill wells at the Tambar field in the southern Norwegian North Sea, lifting overall production to around 18,507 boe/d. These targeted undrained areas north and south of Tambar, which had been identified through different modeling techniques, including 4D seismic technology.

Installation of gas lift in three other wells, expected to finish this summer, should extend field life, production, and reserves.

The appraisal well on the Spirit Energy-operatedFogelberg discovery in the Norwegian Sea revealed a deeper gas-water contact and a better than expected reservoir. The partners have sanctioned a side track well and a potential DST to test reservoir productivity.

This summer Faroe plans to spud a well on the potentially high-impact Rungne prospect, close to the company’s Brasse field in the Brage/Oseberg area of the North Sea.
