ERLANGEN, Germany – Siemens Power and Gas and the company’s Dresser-Rand business have won orders from MODEC for the FPSOCariocaMV30.

This will be deployed at Petrobras’ Sépia field in the presalt Santos basin, 250 km (155 mi) offshore Rio de Janeiro.

Siemens will supply four SGT-A35 gas turbine power generation packages and two SGT-A35-driven DATUM CO2 compressor packages, and will in addition provide long-term service and maintenance for the equipment, due to be delivered toward year-end.

The FPSO will process 180,000 b/d of oil with a storage capacity of 1.4 MMbbl.

The two SGT-A35-driven DATUM compressor trains will re-inject carbon dioxide to pressures exceeding 250 bar (3,626 psi).

According to Siemens, the high-pressure and high-density compression technology allows the overall footprint to be reduced compared to a conventional compression and pumping module, and advantage in tight settings on FPSOs where space and weight are both critical.
