HOUSTON – Most of the platforms under McDermott’s long-term agreement II with Saudi Aramco have left the company’s Jebel Ali yard to be installed at their offshore locations.

The company’s offshore work on the Safaniya field relating to this project is now substantially complete, while preparations continue for the Header 9 offshore campaign, due to start in the current quarter.

McDermott has nearly finished engineering and procurement activities on the Safaniya Phase 5 project, with the first two platforms 100% complete, ready for load-out onto the cargo barge.

Fabrication continues of the remaining structures and these should be ready for load-out in line with the agreed schedule.

McDermott has installed all the structures on Aramco’s four jackets/three observation platforms project and expects to conclude completion activities by mid-year.

The KJO Hout project too is operationally complete, while first steel was cut last month for the Safaniya Phase 6 project. First structural steel is also due to arrive at Jebel Ali in the current quarter for13 Aramco jackets.

McDermott’s Batam complex in Indonesia should start fabrication for the offshore Bul Hanine EPCI project for Qatar Petroleum by mid-year.

Also off Qatar, the company has started pipelay for Total’s PRP project.
