ZUG, Switzerland– Last year the Nord Stream pipeline system in the Baltic Sea delivered 51 bcm of gas to consumers in the European Union.

The system operated at 93% of its annual 55-bcm design capacity of 55 bcm – the highest since the twin pipeline system became operational in late 2012.

In November, the system also reached the milestone of 200 bcm of gas deliveries.

Nord Stream stretches over a distance of 1,200 km (745 mi) from Vyborg, Russia, to Lubmin near Greifswald, Germany.

On arrival in Germany, the gas is transferred to neighboring countries via the connecting NEL and OPAL pipelines.
