SOCO granted extension to offshore Republic of Congo permit

SOCO Exploration and Production has secured a 25-year exploitation permit over the Viodo, Lideka, and Loubana areas of the Marine XI block offshore the Republic of Congo (Brazzaville).

LONDON – SOCO Exploration and Production has secured a 25-year exploitation permit (PEX) over the Viodo, Lideka, and Loubana areas of the Marine XI block offshore the Republic of Congo (Brazzaville).
The applications, adopted by the country’s Council of Ministers, covered areas that were previously part of the shallow-water Marine XI permit, which expired at the end of last March.
They are in addition to the offshoreLidongo PEX, also previously part of Marine XI, which was validated in September 2016.
SOCO EPC operates each of the permit areas with a 40.39% interest, in partnership with WNR, SNPC, AOGC, and PetroVietnam Exploration and Production.
