LONDON – SOCO EPC has completed testing of the Lidongo X Marine 101 ST1 discovery well in the Marine XI block offshore Republic of Congo (Brazzaville).

Results were above pre-test expectations, with a post-stimulation frac peak rate of 5,174 b/d of oil and 3.65 MMcf/d (103,357 cm/d) of gas.

TheLXM-101 well, drilled 23 km (14.3 mi) northwest of Pointe Noire in 45 m (147 ft) of water, was drilled to a TD of 2,665 m (8,743 ft). It encountered oil in a clastics sequence in the Djeno sand formation with drilling shows: early log interpretation indicates a 50-m (164-ft) gross interval. Oil quality was 32° API.

SOCO and its partner will analyze the results to determine the continuity of the well with the nearby discovery in the Marine XII block.
