GSP jackup starts program for OMV Petrom offshore Romania

The jackup GSP Uranus has started drilling in the Romanian sector of the Black Sea under a five-year frame agreement with OMV Petrom.

CONSTANTA, Romania– The jackupGSP Uranus has started drilling in the Romanian sector of the Black Sea under a five-year frame agreement with OMV Petrom.

Rig moving and positioning operations last week were assisted by the anchorhandler tug support vesselGSP Queen.

TheGSP Uranus is a cantilever type, Marathon Le Tourneau Class 116-C design rig. Later this year, it will also work in the sector for Black Sea Oil and Gas, a wholly owned subsidiary of Carlyle International Energy Partners.
