    Anadarko contracts two new Diamond drillships

    Anadarko Petroleum Corp. has contracted with Diamond Offshore Drilling Inc. to use Diamond’s two newbuild drillships once construction is completed.

    HOUSTON– Anadarko Petroleum Corp. has contracted with Diamond Offshore Drilling Inc. to use Diamond’s two newbuild drillships once construction is completed. The $1.8-billion contract covers each rig for five years.

    The Ocean BlackHawk is scheduled to begin in late 2013 and the Ocean BlackHornet in early 2014. The dynamically positioned ultra-deepwater drillships are scheduled to start construction at Hyundai Heavy Industries Co. Ltd. soon.
