MOLDE, Norway — Axess Technologies will supply an export cable pull-in system to Seatrium for Equinor’s 910-MW Empire Wind 1 project offshore New York.
The contract scope covers design, engineering and provision of the 35-mt electric winch system, including pull-in accessories such as guide sheaves and a pull-in tripod.
Following delivery in the third quarter, the system will be deployed on the offshore substation. The winch design is said to comply with the latest standards for withstanding the harsh offshore environment, and it is claimed to be straightforward to dismantle, enabling easy mobilization.
