In Mumbai Offshore block MB-DWN-2009/1 offwestern India, processing has started of recently acquired 2,128 line km (1,322 mi) of 2D broadband seismic. The company is also evaluating options for acquiring 3D seismic data.

As for Sri Lankan offshore block SL 2007-01-001, Cairn continues discussions with the government on commercial terms for its gas discoveries, and is assessing further exploration opportunities that might add to the resource base.

Offshore South Africa, Cairn India is partners with PetroSA in block 1 in the Orange basin. The partners are interpreting newly acquired 3D seismic data and are looking to high-grade prospects for exploratory drilling.

Their focus is on the outboard portion of the block which is interpreted as oil-prone. Environmental clearances and other activities are in progress to allow drilling to start by early 2016.
