This update provides the latest in senior appointments, promotions, retirements, company news and more across the offshore energy industry.

HOUSTON Helge Hammer has stepped down as Longboat Energy CEO and from the board of the company. He has elected to focus his time exclusively on his role as chairman of Longboat JAPEX Norge AS. Nick Ingrassia, Longboat Energy's corporate development director since 2020, has been promoted to CEO. Read more. 

Wood Mackenzie has appointed Jason Liu CEO, replacing Mark Brinin, who is departing to pursue other opportunities.

Talos Energy has expanded its leadership team in connection with its QuarterNorth Energy acquisition. Sergio Maiworm was promoted to executive vice president (EVP) and will continue to serve as CFO. Talos has appointed former QuarterNorth employees Jim Brysch vice president of marketing and Truitt Smith vice president of geosciences. Francisco Noyola has been promoted to vice president – Mexico. Clay Jeansonne has joined Talos as vice president of investor relations. Lastly, John Parker, who previously served as EVP of new ventures, left the company April 24. Read more.

Ecopetrol S.A. has appointed Felipe Trujillo López vice president (VP) of commercial and marketing and Victoria Irene Sepúlveda Ballesteros corporate VP of human talent. María Cristina Toro Restrepo has been named legal vice president. Moreover, Alberto Enrique Consuegra Granger, who had been serving as executive VP of operations, will serve until May 10. The company said Rafael Guzmán, current president of Hocol, will be in charge of this vice presidency as of May 11, and until the appointment of the position is made. Read more. 

TotalEnergies has appointed Louise Tricoire senior vice president of its newly created aviation and marine fuels division.

The International Marine Contractors Association (IMCA) has named a new president, Luca Gentili of Saipem. He replaces Subsea7's Jonathan Tame, who previously held the role and who, in accordance with IMCA’s constitution, came to the end of his two-year term. Hugo Bouvy of Deme Offshore has been appointed the new vice president. 

Veson Nautical has named Emily Edwards vice president of product for Veson's Data Intelligence solutions.  

Well-Safe Solutions has promoted Chris Hay from strategy and commercial director to chief commercial officer.

Yves De Leeneer has been inaugurated as the 121st president of the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology (IMarEST). 

Hendrik Veder Group, a steel wire and fiber rope provider, has appointed Anne Raangs sustainability and circularity specialist. 
 
BCCK has appointed Divyam Mandalia director of business development-renewables.
 
IMA Financial Group, Inc. has welcomed John Mizell, an energy and marine insurance veteran, to its team of risk management, insurance and surety bonding professionals. Mizell will assume the role as a director within IMA Houston’s Energy & Marine Practice. 
 
Jadestone Energy's board of directors has named Linda Beal an independent non-executive director.
 
The following were elected to the Energy Workforce & Technology Council board of directors: Scott Livingston (chair); Sam Sledge (vice chair); Kyle Ramachandran (finance chair); Brian Groody and Daniel Hindes (immediate past chairs); Justin Bliffen (well servicing director); Ron Gusek (well stimulation director); Megan Oberly (membership director); Matt Armstrong (board counsel); Michael Reeves and Jack Renshaw (chair emeritus); and Steven Anderson, Lyndal Cissell, Derek Kamp and Gabriel Rio (directors at large). In addition, Katherine Hargis and Kristen Culver were approved as new members of the council advisory board.

Company news

Eni has agreed to combine the majority of its UK upstream business, aside from its East Irish Sea and CCUS activities, with Ithaca Energy’s UK offshore portfolio. Read more. 

Unique Group has acquired Subsea Innovation, based in Darlington, northeast England. Read more. 

JERA, the Japanese power producer, has established JERA Nex as a new global renewable energy business. It will develop, invest in, own and operate various assets in offshore and onshore wind, solar and battery storage. Read more. 

TotalEnergies has agreed to acquire Sapura Upstream Assets’ 50% interest in Malaysian gas producer/operator SapuraOMV Upstream for $530 million. Read more. 

VAALCO Energy Inc. has closed the acquisition of Svenska Petroleum Exploration AB, an exploration and production company based in Stockholm, Sweden. Read more.
