This update provides the latest in senior appointments, promotions, retirements, company news and more across the offshore energy industry.

HOUSTON — Par Pacific Holdings Inc., an energy company providing both renewable and conventional fuels to the US, as announced that William Pate will retire as CEO at the upcoming annual shareholders’ meeting after eight years as leader of the company. The company’s board of directors unanimously appointed Will Monteleone to become the next president and CEO. Monteleone has served in several Par Pacific leadership positions over the past 10-plus years. Pate and Monteleone will each continue to serve as members of the company’s board of directors.

VIKING Life-Saving Equipment A/S has appointed Henrik Helsinghof CEO. Helsinghof will return to VIKING as CEO June 1. His appointment follows the death of former CEO Henrik Uhd Christensen in January after struggling with a short illness. Helsinghof had previously been identified by Christensen and the VIKING board of directors as a possible successor. 

Ørsted has appointed Trond Westlie group CFO and a member of the executive board and Patrick Harnett COO, both effective April 1. In addition, Ørsted’s board of directors has recommended Lene Skole as its new chair and Andrew Brown as its new deputy chair. On Feb. 7, Thomas Thune Andersen, Ørsted's chair of the board of directors, decided not to seek re-election at the annual general meeting on March 5 and will be stepping down after serving as chair for 10 years.

Simon Laing has joined Interocean Marine Services (formerly Rigmar Group) as CFO and Alex Clark has moved into a CCO role following his position as a marine technical adviser for bp Solutions. The two appointments strengthen the existing leadership team following Alex Reid stepping into the COO position and joining Fraser Moore as CEO who moved to Interocean in July 2023. 

Manta Marine Technologies will now be led by CEO Ina Reksten, who previously served as deputy CEO and COO. Outgoing CEO Dr. Thomas Koniordos has been appointed as chair of the board. In addition, former chief sales officer, Aleksander Askeland, will be the new CFO, and Richard Engelhart Bjercke will be the new CCO.

Lloyd's Register has announced that two key senior leaders in its Greater China team will be moving into new positions. Sau Weng Tang takes over responsibility for Greater China as president, and Dr. Mao-Gen Xue, former president of Greater China, will move to a new role as senior adviser for Greater China. 

United Oil and Gas Plc has named Herona Thompson country manager in Jamaica.

GLO Marine has appointed Maciej Jozwiak its new head of engineering for vessel upgrades and decarbonization projects.

Reema Poddar has been elected to Oceaneering International Inc.'s board of directors as an independent, non-executive director in Class I. Plus, Poddar has been appointed to the Nominating, Corporate Governance and Sustainability Committee of the board. 

Dennis McShane, who has been non-executive chair of Jadestone Energy since 2017, and Lisa Stewart, who has been an independent non-executive director of the company since 2019, both plan to step down from the board ahead of the company's next annual general meeting. As a replacement, it has been proposed that Dr. Adel Chaouch will be appointed to the board.

Effective March 27, MODEC's new executive officers will be Takeshi Kanamori as chairman executive officer; Hirohiko Miyata as president and CEO; Yasuhiro Takano as executive vice president; Katsuyuki Imaizumi as senior executive managing officer; and Osamu Toriumi as senior executive managing officer. In addition, executive managing officers will be Minoru Sawada, Soichi Ide and Ryo Suzuki, and executive offivers will include Mitsuru Sato, Koichi Matsumiya, Arun Duggal, Tomomi Yasuzane and Shichiro Kambe.

GTC Vorro Technology, a turnkey provider of environmental process technologies to oil and gas, refining and petrochemical companies, has announced that Melissa Peterson has joined the executive leadership team as general counsel.

Obituary

LLOG Exploration Chairman and Founder Gerald A. Boelte passed away on Feb. 22 in a single vehicle accident on his family property, the company said. He founded LLOG in 1977 and guided it for the past 45-plus years.

Blue Water, a transport and logistics company, is expanding its operations in Africa. Due to increasing activities in South Africa and Namibia within the solar, wind, hydrogen, oil and gas, and mining sectors, Blue Water has opened two offices in those countries.
