This update provides the latest in senior appointments, promotions, retirements, company news and more across the offshore energy industry.

HOUSTON — As part of a new management structure, Ørsted has established a new commercial organization under Rasmus Errboe, who has been appointed deputy CEO and chief commercial officer. Errboe is currently interim CFO and was previously CEO of Region Europe at Ørsted. Read more. 

Skyborn Renewables has appointed Patrick Lammers CEO, effective June 1, replacing Thomas Karst. Karst will continue in an advisory capacity, serving as a counselor to both the advisory board and Lammers to enable an effective transition for Skyborn. Karst joined Skyborn Renewables at its inception in September 2022 and has served as CEO since March 2023. Read more. 

Neo-Oiltools, a creator of drilling tools for the oil and gas industry, has appointed Robert Borne CEO.

McDermott has named Maurizio Coratella executive vice president and COO, effective May 1. Coratella is joining from Dri D'Italia SpA, a startup focused on carbon reduction in the steel industry, where he served as COO since April 2023. Read more. 

Well-Safe Solutions has appointed its first CFO as it continues to deliver its strategic growth plans throughout Asia-Pacific and Europe. Alan McQuade assumed the position in March.

Wood has appointed Jess Stanley president of its Americas Operations, joining the business unit’s global leadership team.

Hanwha Ocean has selected Philippe Levy, the former president of SBM Offshore Americas, as the president of its Offshore Business division.

TGS has appointed Wadii El Karkouri executive vice president of Imaging and Technology.

ClassNK's Executive Vice President (EVP) Hayato Suga has been promoted to senior EVP. Additionally, Dr. Toshiro Arima, Masaki Matsunaga, and Dr. Yoshiya Yamaguchi have been appointed new EVPs.

Port of Aberdeen has promoted John Wilson to head of engineering, joining the executive leadership team, and Peter Suttie to operations manager. Additionally, Benji Morrison has joined as the new harbour master.

NextGeo, a marine geosciences and offshore construction support services company, has appointed Frank Koopman offshore wind strategy director. 

William Ng is the new Lifting Equipment Engineers Association member engagement manager for Southeast Asia. 

Robert (Rob) Black has been appointed a non-executive director of Carnarvon Energy. Also, Gavin Ryan will step down from the board, with the timing of Ryan’s resignation to occur immediately after the appointment of Black. Effective July 1, Black will assume the role of chair from Carnarvon’s current chair, William (Bill) Foster. Foster will remain on the board as a non-executive director following 
the transition of the chair role until such time as a suitably qualified director is appointed to 
replace him, the company said.

Jadestone Energy's Dennis McShane has stepped down as an independent non-executive director and chair of the board. The board has elected Adel Chaouch as chair. 

The Maha Energy AB board has elected Paulo Thiago Mendonça chairman and Fabio Vassel a board member. Mendonça has also taken office as member of 3R Petroleum’s Finance Committee.

Satelytics, an automated cloud-based geospatial analytics provider, has appointed veteran oil and gas executive David Skidmore to the board in an advisory role.

Foster Marketing, a marketing communications firm serving the energy sector, has named Cassidy Whitaker marketing and analytics coordinator.

Company News

SLB and ChampionX Corp. have formed a definitive agreement for SLB to purchase ChampionX in an all-stock transaction. The agreement was unanimously approved by the ChampionX board of directors. Read more. 

Enauta’s board has approved the submission of a merger proposal to 3R Petroleum Óleo e Gás. According to the company, the combined group would be one of the largest and most diversified oil and gas independents in Latin America with a five-year high organic growth portfolio. Read more. 

Beach Energy is undertaking a comprehensive strategic review, which includes a new asset-based organizational structure to be implemented by April 8. Several of the current executive team will be leaving Beach over the coming months. New executive leadership appointments are underway and will be announced once all positions have been confirmed. In addition, "to achieve efficiency and operational cost improvements," the company is targeting a headcount reduction of 30%. Read more. 

SLB has formed an agreement to combine its carbon capture business with Aker Carbon Capture to support accelerated industrial decarbonization at scale. Read more. 

Acteon Group, an offshore energy infrastructure services business, has been acquired by private equity investors Buckthorn Partners and One Equity Partners. Read more. 

Dril-Quip and Innovex Downhole Solutions, a supplier of well life-cycle technologies and services, have agreed to merge via an all-stock transaction. Read more. 

Wintershall Dea AG has entered into an agreement for the sale of its 50.02% stake in WIGA Transport Beteiligungs-GmbH & Co. KG and WIGA Verwaltungs-GmbH (together WIGA) to Berlin-headquartered company SEFE Securing Energy for Europe GmbH (SEFE). SEFE currently holds a 49.98% stake in WIGA and, upon closing of the transaction, will become the company’s sole shareholder.

PD&MS Group plans to launch a new returners program to help STEM professionals in Scotland who have had a career break return to the industry.
