Wood Group starts North Sea Snorre flowline FEED

Statoil has assigned Wood Group to perform front-end engineering and design for the subsea flowline system for the Snorre expansion project in the Norwegian North Sea.

STAVANGER, NorwayStatoil has assigned Wood Group to perform front-end engineering and design for the subsea flowline system for the Snorre expansion project in the Norwegian North Sea.

Wood Group’s Stavanger office will work on the program, having completed a concept study for the project at the end of last year.

Bob MacDonald, CEO of Wood Group’s Specialist Technical Solutions business, said: “Our independent subsea engineering expertise combined with the latest pipeline system technology will allow us to challenge the design, working to reduce cost, and boost efficiencies.”

In May 2016, Statoil also awarded the company a master services agreement to support the life cycles of its offshore and onshore facilities.
