STAVANGER, Norway – Statoil has commissioned Wood Group to perform subsea field concept engineering for the Snorre expansion project in the Norwegian North Sea.

The focus will be on cost-efficient enhanced recovery from the Snorre reservoir, with a tieback to the existing Snorre A tension leg platform and gas import from Gullfaks A.

Additionally, the contract carries options for front-end engineering and design (FEED), detailed design, and fabrication.

Statoil has also awardedWood Group Kenny (WGK) detailed design for two new pipelines with associated spools and an umbilical, as part of the planned tieback of a new unmanned wellhead platform to the Oseberg field center.

Recently WGK provided FEED assistance for engineering of a pipeline system that will connect the plannedUtgard subsea template to Statoil’s Sleipner T platform, and lifetime extension studies to the Gullfaks field pipeline system.
