Songa Offshore’s semisubmersible Songa Encourage is returning to the Heidrun field in the Norwegian Sea, following an equipment overhaul and inspection campaign at a sheltered location in Norway.

LIMASSOL, Cyprus – Songa Offshore’s semisubmersible Songa Encourage is returning to the Heidrun field in the Norwegian Sea, following an equipment overhaul and inspection campaign at a sheltered location in Norway.

The rig, contracted by Statoil, was shut down early in January afterwater ingress was observed in a pump room.

It should be back in operation and on day rate within a few days.

Another semi, Songa Enabler, is currently suspended but should resume operations for Statoil on April 1.

Older rigsSonga Delta, Songa Dee, and Songa Trym are all stacked and being marketed for new employment.
