ARENDAL, Norway – Sevan Marine has issued an update on its various studies for floating production platforms.
The company has been providing engineering and site support services for theGoliat and Western Isles projects in the Barents Sea and east of Shetland.
It is also working on studies for potential FPSOs for theVette and Penguin fields and potential FSOs for the Bentley and Culzean fields, all in the North Sea.
Most of these prospects have been postponed or delayed in 2015 due to the fall in the oil price and consequent market uncertainty.
Sevan also has held meetings with oil and gas majors regarding FLNG prospects. It believes the advantages of the cylindrical design of its floaters for FLNG, in combination with theHiLoad technology, will make the design competitive compared with shipshape solutions.
