ARENDAL, Norway --Sevan Marine has acquired the technology rights of TORP LNG AS and its affiliates.

The deal gives Sevan ownership of the HiLoad technology for offshore loading of liquefied natural gas.

Remora, which developed HiLoad originally for offshoreloading of crude oil, retains the technology rights.

Thefirst HiLoad unit, owned by Teekay Offshore, is about to enter service offshore Brazil.

Recently Sevan, known for itscylindrical FPSOs, drilling and accommodation structures, has developed a floating LNG platform. The cylindrical hull shape is designed to eliminate the need for turret and swivel systems.

The company has established a new subsidiary, HiLoad LNG, offering the HiLoad technology for offshore LNG transfer as a standalone solution for any FLNG unit, or in combination with Sevan’s cylindrical FLNG platform.
