COPENHAGEN, Denmark – The Ramboll Oil & Gas/Semco Maritime joint venture will provide offshore and onshore support services for Hess’ platforms in the Danish North Sea.

The agreement covers engineering, procurement, quality assurance, offshore manpower, and full responsibility for construction projects at theSouth Arne field platforms.

The main goals are to maintain existing oil production levels and to open opportunities for further field development.

Both companies have worked for Hess on the South Arne complex for several years. Following a three-year development program Hess has started oil production from two new platforms and 11 new wells.

Hess is looking to lower downtime, Ramboll says, pointing out as an example that coordinating offshore installation of equipment fabricated onshore with other ongoing work can help keep production shutdowns to a minimum.

The five-year contract should create around 100 jobs in the port of Esbjerg.
