HOUSTON –OMV Norge AS and Rock Solid Images (RSI) have entered an initial one-year R&D/service agreement to integrate geophysics, rock physics, and geology for improved quantitative interpretation in exploration.

The project is based on geoscientists from each company working together to meld RSI's rock physics and geophysical knowledge with OMV's geological and regional understanding to improve exploration success.

The project will lead to the development of new workflows and useful both in Norway and across OMV’s exploration portfolio and will also contribute to more tailored and fit-for-purpose services from RSI.

To facilitate this collaboration, RSI will provide a dedicated R&D center based in OMV’s office in Stavanger, Norway, consisting of hardware, software, and RSI technical staff.
