Oceaneering to supply control umbilical for Julia

Exxon Mobil Corp. (NYSE:XOM) continues to let contracts for work on its deepwater Gulf of Mexico Julia field development.

HOUSTON – Exxon Mobil Corp. (NYSE:XOM) continues to let contracts for work on its deepwater Gulf of Mexico Julia field development. Oceaneering International (NYSE:OII) has won a contract to supply a production control umbilical to the Walker Ridge project.

The order is for an electro-hydraulic, steel-tube umbilical 14 mi (22.5 km) long for delivery in early 2015. Oceaneering will manufacture the umbilical at its Panama City, Florida, facility.

The umbilical will supply hydraulic control fluids, chemicals, and electric power to the subsea well and manifold in 7,200 ft (2,195 m) of water.

Exxon has contracted 2H Offshore to supply thesteel catenary risers for tieback to a moored semisubmersible FPU. Technip will engineer, fabricate, install, and pre-commission the flowlines, SCRs, and flowline end terminations.
