MARLOW, UK – FoundOcean has completed foundation grouting of three new platform jackets in the North Sea for Heerema Marine Contractors.

All were designed using pile-to-sleeve connections and fabricated with grout line connections above the waterline.

Two were for thelatest phase of the Hess-operated South Arne field development in the Danish sector - Wellhead Platform North and Wellhead Platform East. Both were set down in water depths of 60 m (197 ft).

The jackets had eight skirt piles (two per leg) through which the piles were driven. FoundOcean used its Recirculating Jet Mixer to mix and pump an ordinary Portland cement CEM 1 grout into the annuli to achieve the connection between the eight piles and the sleeves.

The other jacket was for the wellhead platform onCentrica’s York field in the UK southern North Sea. This is a four-leg steel jacket with one pile and sleeve per leg. The connection was made using the same grouted pile-to-sleeve technique applied for South Arne.
