CALGARY, Canada – Nexen expects first production from the Usan field development off Nigeria within the next few months.
The program remains on schedule, despite Nigeria’s recent civil unrest, with final commissioning under way.
Usan, operated by Total, will be Nexen’s largest source of new production in 2012. Its share of peak production through the FPSO will be 36,000 b/d.
Nexen also expects to participate in an exploration well this year on the Owowo West prospect, designed as a follow-up to the Owowo South B discovery.
