Marianas semisubmersible stable after mishap

The Transocean Marianas is stable, and efforts are under way to de-moor the semisubmersible drilling rig in order to tow it to sheltered water for inspection, according to the company.

HOUSTON – The Transocean Marianas is stable, and efforts are under way to de-moor the semisubmersible drilling rig in order to tow it to sheltered water for inspection, according to the company.

The vessel suffered an anchor mishap offshore Ghana and began to take on water and to list after breaching an anchor chain locker during anchor recovery.

Transocean says there are no injuries.
