    EnCore spuds Burgman wildcat

    The Burgman exploration well 28/9 in the Central North Sea block 28/9 is under way, reports EnCore Oil.

    LONDON – The Burgman exploration well 28/9 in the Central North Sea block 28/9 is under way, reports EnCore Oil. Applied Drilling Technology is managing the Transocean Galaxy II jackup rig for operator EnCore.

    The main objective is to establish whether the Tay and Cromarty sands are hydrocarbon bearing. The well also targets a deeper, high-risk Jurassic Fulmar sand.

    The equity in the block 28/9 joint venture is EnCore Oil (15%), Premier Oil (35%), Wintershall (UK North Sea) Ltd (20%), Nautical Petroleum (15%), and Agora Oil & Gas (15%).
