Vattenfall secures Van Oord jackup for offshore wind servicing needs
Vattenfall has signed a multi-year framework contract with Van Oord to charter the MPI Resolution jackup vessel for offshore wind servicing needs in northern Europe and the UK.
The MPI Resolution offshore installation vessel will be tasked with servicing Vattenfall turbines with a maximum power output of 5 MW across Northern Europe.
Vattenfall has signed a multi-year framework contract with Van Oord to charter the MPI Resolution jackup vessel for offshore wind servicing needs in northern Europe and the UK.
The contract guarantees the vessel’s availability for several months each year, but mainly during the peak maintenance season from early March to late October.
There is an option to extend the arrangement further.
Vattenfall says wind turbines, with their rotating components, experience wear and tear over time, resulting in scheduled, and at times unscheduled, maintenance.
MPI Resolution will service Vattenfall offshore wind turbines of up to 5 MW in size.
