LARNACA, Cyprus– BP has chartered the Prosafe accommodation vessel Safe Zephyrus to provide gangway-connected operations next year at the Clair Ridge project west of Shetland.
This will support completion of some post-first oil scopes during the summer months at the new Clair Ridge platform.
The contract runs for five months from mid-May 2019 with a one-month extension option. It will take effect directly after the vessel finishes its current program for Equinor at the Johan Sverdrup complex in the Norwegian sector.
Operations will involve use of dynamic positioning, which Prosafe says will give BP flexibility in addition to high bed capacity. Total value of the contract excluding the option is around $19 million.
