Offshore staff
BANGKOK, Thailand – Mermaid Maritime has agreed to sell the accommodation/workover services barge MTR-1 and the tender assist drilling rig MTR-2 to Star Matrix for $3.8 million.
TheMTR-1, ABS classed and registered under the flag of Singapore, was built in 1978 and upgraded in 1998. It has a water depth rating of 100 m (328 ft) for conventional mooring and 680 m (2,231 ft) for pre-laid mooring, with accommodation.
It works typically offshore Southeast Asia and West Africa.
TheMTR-2, ABS classed and registered under the flag of Thailand, was built in 1981 and upgraded in 2007, with similar mooring depth ratings to the MTR-1.
The rig can drill to depths of up to 5,500 m (18,055 ft), with accommodation for 126 personnel. It is suited to work alongside light weight platforms in Southeast Asia and West Africa.
