Tug re-deployed to Black Sea port

Towage group Multraship is bolstering its operations in the Black Sea region by transferring its Damen-built tugboat Multratug 26 to the Bulgarian port of Burgas.

TERNEUZEN, the Netherlands – Towage group Multraship is bolstering its operations in the Black Sea region by transferring its Damen-built tugboat Multratug 26 to the Bulgarian port of Burgas.

The company’s subsidiary Burgas Tug Service will operate the vessel.

Pepijn Nuijten, joint-managing director of Multraship, said: “We have seen a significant growth in our Black Sea operations, mainly in harbor towage and in offshore work, not least that involving theTurkish Stream project (and its predecessor the South Stream project) to build a natural gas pipeline from southern Russia to Turkey.”

The 63-ton bollard pull, ASD FiFiMultratug 26 will join a fleet of six tug boats in Burgas, which include ASD and Voith-powered units.
