SINGAPORE -- Ezra Holdings Ltd. has awarded a $25.6-million contract to Labroy Shipbuilding and Engineering for a newbuild ultra-large pipelay, accommodation, well service, and maintenance vessel. The contract value excludes owner-furnished equipment.
The vessel will be the second of its kind in Ezra's fleet and the second to be equipped with a DP2 class dynamic positioning system that is upgradeable to DP3.
The vessel will be engineered like its sister vessels for pipelay, maintenance, installation, well service, and construction services.
The new vessel, designed to accommodate 500, will work on deepwater rigs and platforms. The vessel will be able to perform all types of deepwater work in demanding weather conditions, says Lionel Lee, Ezra managing director.
Delivery is expected in the first half of 2009.
