Pemex awards Pride jackup contracts

Pride International Inc. has secured one-year contracts with Mexico's PEMEX Exploracion y Produccion for three 200-ft (61-m), mat-cantilever jackup rigs, the Pride Alabama, Pride Colorado, and Pride Mississippi, to drill in the Mexican Gulf of Mexico.

HOUSTON -- Pride International Inc. has secured one-year contracts with Mexico's PEMEX Exploracion y Produccion for three 200-ft (61-m), mat-cantilever jackup rigs, the Pride Alabama, Pride Colorado, and Pride Mississippi, to drill in the Mexican Gulf of Mexico.

The contracts for thePride Alabama and Pride Colorado are expected to begin in May and July 2007, respectively, in continuation of existing contracts with PEMEX. The contract for the Pride Mississippi is expected to begin in September 2007, following the completion of current contract commitments and mobilization of the rig from the US GoM.
