MONTROSE, UK --Swire Pacific Offshore has ordered four more IMT966 anchor handlers designed by IMT Marine Consultants in Scotland. The company has six other similar vessels under construction currently at Labroy Shipyards in Singapore.

The 120-metric ton (132-ton) bollard pull vessels are engineered for offshore towage, anchor handling, and logistics support in all weather conditions. The bridge deck's upper section also can be removed and stored on the main deck, facilitating passage into landlocked areas such as the Caspian Sea.

Two CCP propellers give the 66-m (216-ft) long vessels a maximum speed of 14.5 knots. There are two bow thrusters and two stern thrusters, each outputting 600 kW, for joystick-controlled DP operations.

Pacific Valhalla will be the first completed vessel, and should be delivered next month, with subsequent vessels being delivered at two month intervals.
