LONDON --Acergy SA has ordered a newbuild dive support vessel for northern European operations from Havila Shipping for 2010 delivery.

The harsh environment vessel will be 120 m (394 ft) long, 23 m (75 ft) in beam, accommodate 120 people, and carry a 250 metric ton (276 ton) crane. It will have an ice class hull and Class 3 dynamic positioning. It will support a 24-man, twin bell saturation diving system certified to Norwegian regulations.

"This key asset will assist us in winning challenging SURF projects and enable us to undertake pipeline tie-in, hyperbaric welding and inspection, repair and maintenance work from a vessel which will differentiate Acergy from its competitors in terms of safety, efficiency and productivity," says Bruno Chabas, CEO of Acergy.
