Keppel secures North Sea contracts

SINGAPORE -- Keppel Verolme BV, a subsidiary of Keppel Offshore & Marine, has secured two contracts totaling $108-million for offshore activities in the North Sea.

The first contract is a repeat order for the outfitting of theSevan Voyageur FPSO for Sevan Production AS. Work is expected to be complete in the summer of 2008.

This is the third cylindrical FPSO facility that Keppel Verolme is outfitting for Sevan. The vessel has an oil storage capacity of 300,000 bbl, with an oil process capacity of 30,000 b/d, and a water injection capacity of 20,000 b/d.

The second contract is for the drydocking ofSaipem 7000, a semisubmersible crane and pipelaying (J-lay) DP vessel for Saipem S.p.A.

Keppel Verolme will renew the hull coating system and carry out maintenance works to the underwater equipment, including the thrusters, overboard valves, quick ballasting system, and the impressed current system. Work onSaipem 7000 is expected to be complete in 1Q 2008.
