Laborde Marine wins PSV contract

NEW ORLEANS -- Laborde Marine Services has entered into a contract with Eastern Shipbuilding Group of Panama City, Florida to build two 265-ft (81-m) class platform supply vessels. The vessels will be 260 ft (79 m) long, 60 ft (18 m) wide, and 20 ft (6 m) deep.
The Aker Marine-designed vessels will be US Flag, ABS-classed, DP2, Solas-certified, certificated under Sub-Chapters I & L, and driven by twin stern azimuthing Z-Drives powered by 5,150 hp Caterpillar engine packages.
The first of the deepwater vessels is due for completion in September 2009, with the second following three months later.
