Anadarko contracts Discover Spirit for 3 years

Anadarko has awarded Transocean a $569-million contract for use of the drillship Discoverer Spirit for three years in the Gulf of Mexico.

HOUSTON -- Anadarko has awarded Transocean a $569-million contract for use of the drillship Discoverer Spirit for three years in the Gulf of Mexico.

The three-year contract is expected to begin in December 2010, following the completion of the rig's existing contract commitments in the region.
