Noordhoek expands DSV fleet

Noordhoek Offshore has ordered a new diving offshore construction support vessel for its activities off northwest Europe.

ZIERIKZEE, The Netherlands --Noordhoek Offshore has ordered a new diving offshore construction support vessel for its activities off northwest Europe.

The DP2 class vessel, due for delivery in the second half of 2009, will be 76 m (249-ft) long, with an 18 m (59-ft) beam, a clear deck space of 685 sq m, with accommodation for 70 personnel. Onboard equipment will include a 100 tonne (110 ton) main crane, a dual light work and observation class ROV spread, and a 12-man, single-bell saturation diving system.

It will be designed mainly for saturation, air and transfer-under-pressure diving operations at depths down to 200 m (656-ft). But it could also serve as a multi-role vessel for deployment worldwide.
