'K' Line orders PSVs from Aker Yards

OSLO, Norway –"K" Line offshore AS has contracted Aker Yards to build four platform supply vessels of Aker design at a cost of NOK 1.4 billion ($258 million) with delivery between 4Q 2010 and 3Q 12011.

The hulls will be guild at Aker in Romania and outfitted at Aker in Norway. The design is Aker Yards PSV 06 CD with a length of 94.4 m (310 ft), beam of 20 m (65.6 ft), 5.1 ton deadweight, with 8,800 KW main engines.
