CSSC has 22.18 million dwt on the books for 2007

In 2006, China State Shipbuilding Corp. manufactured 103 new ships, ranking the company third among the worldwide shipbuilding groups, CSSC says.

BEIJING, China -- In 2006, China State Shipbuilding Corp. manufactured 103 new ships, ranking the company third among the worldwide shipbuilding groups, CSSC says.

The company has won new ship orders worth more than $12.8 trillion. This equates to 22.18 million dwt, which accounts for 56% of the total gained by Chinese shipyards, and 4.97 million dwt more than the total gained in China in 2005.

By the end of 2006, CSSC had 30million dwt of new ship orders on hand, exceeding $19.21trillion, the company says.
