Swiber secures AHTS charter

SINGAPORE -- Swiber Holdings Ltd. has signed a three-year $14-million charter contract with BG Exploration and Production India Ltd. for an anchor handling tug and supply (AHTS) vessel to be used offshore India.
The contract includes two extension options of six months each, which could potentially bring in another $4.6 million for the group.
The latest contract with BG Exploration is Swiber's third agreement secured with the same company in as many months, the company says. The first agreement was to provide a spread of vessels to transport jackets and decks offshore India. The second agreement was to provide an AHTS vessel for oil and gas activity within Indian waters.
