Rigdon Marine Corp. has taken delivery of the First And Ten, the company's first of 10 diesel electric Rigdon 4000 Class platform support vessels (PVS).

HOUSTON -- Rigdon Marine Corp. has taken delivery of the First And Ten, the company's first of 10 diesel electric Rigdon 4000 Class platform support vessels (PVS). The vessel immediately assumed a term contract with a major international oil company operating in the US Gulf of Mexico.
Rigdon 4000 PSVs can transport up to 4,000 barrels of liquid mud in an independent and fully segregated, self-cleaning oval tank system, and have the ability to deliver 100% of the mud cargo to an offshore rig while greatly reducing the client's tank cleaning expense. TheFirst And Ten is ABS classed DP-2, with a diesel-electric propulsion system for fuel efficiency and performance redundancy, the company says.
TheFirst And Ten is 190 ft x 46 ft x 18 ft (58 m x 14 m x 5.5 m) and features two azimuthing z-drives and one fixed L-drive aft with two large tunnel thrusters forward. These features translate into a faster, more maneuverable, more stable and overall safer vessel than traditional medium-sized vessels, Rigdon says. The First And Ten and her sister PSVs will be capable of serving the widest array of applications in all water depths, the company says.
