Bisso Marine sets 1,100-ton superstructure

Bisso Marine has used the tandem heavy-lift capabilities of its 700-ton (635-metric ton) capacity D/B Cappy Bisso and the 600-ton (544-metric ton) capacity D/B Lili Bisso to set a 1,100-ton (998-metric ton) newly built superstructure on to the hull of a new offshore vessel.

HOUSTON -- Bisso Marine has used the tandem heavy-lift capabilities of its 700-ton (635-metric ton) capacity D/B Cappy Bisso and the 600-ton (544-metric ton) capacity D/B Lili Bisso to set a 1,100-ton (998-metric ton) newly built superstructure on to the hull of a new offshore vessel.

The tandem derrick barges lifted the superstructure from its fabrication area and transported it on the hook several hundred feet to the awaiting vessel hull.

The entire heavy lifting operation was performed in approximately six hours.
